Calliope

d. March 15, 2026

Calliope was born in the summer of 2010 in Austin, Texas. She was one of eight kittens found on the streets of Austin. Calliope was the runt of the litter. She had no tail, and she had one blue eye and one green eye. She ran and hid when visited for her adoption. She was a sweet and shy kitten who did not feel comfortable around everyone, but she loved her owners dearly.

When she was 7 years old, she moved to Munich, Germany with her owners. She then moved to Pittsburgh when she was 11 and spent the last 6 years of her life there.

Calliope loved sitting on her owner’s lap and getting pets, and she would knead the blanket and purr. She had a pear-shaped body, with small shoulders and wide hips. She would often sit in what her owners referred to as “toad mode” where her body shape made her look like a toad.

When first one baby and then another joined the family, Calliope became extremely protective of and loving toward them. She would often sit nearby while they played and guard them while they slept.

We will never forget our sweet Calliope, and we loved her dearly.
