Kacy entered our lives in June 2008 as an unexpected gift — a tiny, 8‑month‑old stray who appeared in our backyard in Fortson, Georgia and immediately decided she belonged with us. From that moment on, she ruled the house with quiet confidence and unmistakable presence, quickly earning her title as the queen of the home.

Though she had her choice of humans, she chose Ed as her person — a decision that surprised everyone, including him. She softened him, claimed him, and turned a self‑proclaimed non–cat person into her devoted companion. Their bond became one of the defining relationships of her life.

Kacy lived with a sense of routine that was almost ceremonial. She followed her daily schedule with clockwork precision, moving through the house as though she were conducting the rhythm of the day. In her early and middle years, she was playful and clever, even learning to play hide‑and‑seek — a game she approached with the same seriousness she brought to everything else.

In the last two years, she slowed down and faced health challenges with quiet resilience. Even as her world became smaller, her presence remained steady, comforting, and deeply woven into the fabric of home.

After eighteen years of love, companionship, and gentle rule, Kacy passed peacefully, leaving behind a house that feels quieter without her and hearts that will always carry her.
