Mister Hampton-Johnson ♥︎
2010 – 2025 ♥︎ Forever 15
Our sweetest little boy, Mister – a chronically-4lb, portly, playful-but-ever-peaceful, black and tan (and eventually, gray ♥︎) coated, full-blooded Yorkshire Terrier – passed away, peacefully and naturally, on Sep. 14, 2025, at the age of 15 years old. He was the cutest, friendliest, tiniest, funniest little teddy bear you could ever imagine, and he brought endless love, light, and laughter to every single person who knew him.
His origin story is both serendipitous and mysterious. One late-summer day in August of 2015, the late Sydney Lightfoot (Johnson), on a complete whim, fully adopted an approximately 5-year old Yorkie dog from a previously loving family who could no longer afford to home him. He came with a medium-sized crate that dwarfed his stout little stature adorably, several toys that he'd allegedly refused to ever play with (he, in fact, never played with toys!), his dining dishes, and the friendliest soul to ever exist in such a tiny little creature.
He took no time adjusting to the brand new home and humans around him, and fell madly in love with his new family – our family ♥︎ – at very first sight.
Mister tenderly took care of Sydney until her own final departure in March of 2018. He was her very last, and arguably, most beloved, pet of all-time. ♥︎
Even beyond this bond, however: Mister was pure, unadulterated and unconditional love.
A fiercely loyal lap-dog to his final day, he was the most docile li'l critter many had ever seen in their lives, and he unapologetically adored: cuddles – both cradled, just like a human-baby, in his Mommy's arms and nestled inconspicuously in his Papa's pouch and robe; sunbathing at any chance he could get, like a fabulous little Coco Chanel; crochet, both the meditative action, whilst he'd snuggle a warm skein of yarn, and the finished projects he had handmade, just for him and his little body, by his Mommy, i.e., his technicolor dream-blankie, his ribbed turtleneck sweaters, etc.; traveling all throughout the city, permenantly planted to the hip of his Papa, his very best friend; watching hours and hours of television, movies, and video games with his beloved uncle, Michael ♥︎; taking long, calming car-rides with his Bonus Papa, Evan ♥︎; playing with his beloved cousins, Samuel and Stuart ♥︎; being groomed by Miss Joanne ♥︎; meeting strangers and loving them, instantly and innocently, without any discrimination at all; brushing his little bangs into his own eyes and styling his own hair; getting his teefies brushed by Papa; taking morning-walks, then resting on the old porch-swing with Mommy to listen to the duckies and the birdies by the babbling creek; wearing all sorts of adorable little clothes and accessories that he just couldn't wait to get on and would fuss when they were removed, like the little diva he always was; and so much more that will live on in our hearts, forever.
After the passing of Sydney, Mister was his happiest when in the tender care of his Papa, Christopher Hampton, and his Mommy, Serena Johnson.
Mister is tenderly survived by his heartbroken and devastated family: His Papa, Christopher Hampton; his Mommy, Serena Johnson; his Uncles, Michael Hampton Jr., Preston Jones, and Stuart Johnson Jr.; his Bonus Daddy, Evan Archibald; his Cousins, Shamar, Stuart, Samuel, Storm, and Sydnee Johnson; and his Grandma's, Grace Archibald and Celeste Hampton.
He is happily reuniting with Sydney Lightfoot (Johnson) in heaven, above.
He will be remembered for his universal love and tenderness towards any and everyone he had ever met, as well as his sweetness, his independence, and his undying loyalty. He will be remembered for changing our whole entire lives.
Rest peacefully, sweetest boy. We’ll love and cherish you forever.
