In Loving Memory of Nessa

🌈 Our Beloved Black Cat

Nessa, our gorgeous long-haired black cat, passed away peacefully in her sleep last night. Found around the Halloween season, she was the perfect familiar to my inner witch — mysterious, beautiful, independent, and full of personality.

Nessa was a true cat: affectionate only on her own terms, preferring gentle head rubs and quiet company to being picked up. She shared her home with her brother, Mr. Sniffy who adored chasing and snuggling her (even if she only tolerated it), and her older sister Elphaba, who kept her distance after Nessa made it clear who was in charge.

Over the past year, we mourned Nessa many times, thinking each close call might be her last. She bravely used up every one of her nine lives before finally crossing the Rainbow Bridge. Though we find comfort knowing she is now free from sickness, her absence leaves a deep silence in our home. We will miss her demanding meows for food morning, noon, and night — and the sweet, gentle moments she chose to share with us.

Nessa wasn’t just a pet — she was family. Her spirit, sass, and softness will forever be part of our hearts.
