Shaun Taylor “TAYLOR GANG OR DIE” Hurd (Walker)

November 12, 2010 – August 16, 2026

Shaun Taylor Hurd, born Shaun Taylor Walker on November 12, 2010, to her loving Mommie, Marie, left this earthly place and crossed the rainbow bridge to Glory on August 16, 2026.

Shaun came into this world and into my life during my senior year of high school in 2010. She was my Christmas gift from my mom, her beloved "Bamma," Karen Thomas-Walker. Becoming a loved and cherished "granddogter" to Aaron Walker "Pap" & Karen Thomas-Walker and a HUGE part of our close and extended family!

What was given to me as a Christmas gift became one of the greatest gifts of my entire life. From the moment that random woman sat her in my coat and zipped her in to keep her warm, I fell in-love. Mommie's yittle girl. For almost 16 years, Shaun was there through it all. She grew up with me... She was there through the good times, the hard times, the changes, the heartbreaks, the celebrations, and all of the ordinary days in between. So much of my life is intertwined with hers that it is almost impossible to remember my life without her in it.

And if you knew Shaun, you knew that girl was SPICY... like a fresh, cold can of Sprite!

She was fun-loving, hyper, feisty, LOUD, and a little judgy lol. A true character. She had a personality that could never be mistaken for anyone else's! She was remarkably discerning of people and she was not shy about letting you know exactly how she felt.

She also loved food. A lot. Almost as much as she loved her family, maybe even a little more than us... LOL

Over the years, Shaun gained her Daddie, Veronzo Hurd, who loved her as his own and gave her the "Hurd" last name. She became Shaun Taylor Hurd, but no matter what last name she carried, she'll always be my Shaun T. She was also a Big Sister. She shared the second half of her life with Ghost Lee, who went ahead of her in 2022; Kendall Noel, who passed away as a puppy before she ever made it home to us; and her sisters Coco Chanel and Nova-Jean Giselle, who were beside her until the very end.

Shaun's first name was given in memory of a special woman named Shaun and in her own way, she carried that name for nearly 16 years and made it completely her own. But she had more nicknames than anyone could possibly count! Stinky Booty, Dootie Butt, Fatness Everdeen, Booda, Funky Mom, Scootie Ootie, Booty Bae, Shaun T-A-Lee, FatGirl, And every other ridiculous, loving name we could come up with over the years. She was my child...is our child and I love that dog more than I could ever put into words. Heartbroken doesn't even begin to describe it. She was my first baby, and losing her feels like losing a piece of my history.

Shaun was surrounded by her Mommie, Daddie, sisters Coco and Nova, and her "Bamma" Karen, along with the love, prayers, and support of so many people who cared about her and about us. Even though we knew she was tired, there are some things you don't realize you'll miss until they're suddenly gone. Shaun used to bark for absolutely no reason. It annoyed us sometimes... We would wonder, “GIRL, WHY are you barking?!” But I must say, we miss that little yet LOUD voice already!

If Shaun could talk, she would have a STORY for the books. I can only imagine everything she would have to say after almost 16 years of watching us, judging us, loving us, barking at absolutely nothing, and probably wondering why we weren't feeding her around the clock. I pray that when she crossed that beautiful rainbow bridge, she was met by those who went before her and that she knew, without any doubt, that she was loved every single day of her life.
